Lara Croft
Lara is the main character in the Tomb Raider series. Lara is a rich English brunette who is living in a huge mansion with her butler, Winston. As a child, Lara grew up in a rich family. Her father was Lord Henshingly Croft, and she attened the Wimbledon High School for Girls at age 11. When she was 16, her parents wanted to send her to get an education in her A levels in an English school. Later on, Lara looked at an edition of National Geographic and saw Professor Werner Von Croy on the cover. He was a renowned archaeologist, and he also gave a lecture at Lara's school. His next expedition was to go to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. She begged her parents to go with him, and they agreed since they saw it as an educational experience. Lara accompanied him on his adventure, and they explored Angkor Wat and also were on a quest to get the Iris. After that, she grew up and became an experienced tomb raider. She is often looking for gold and artifacts. Lara is agile, strong, and experienced with several guns. Lara traveled the world and went around the world. Her adventures included going to Cambodia, Rome, Russia, Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and many other places. Unfortunately, after an adventure in Giza, in the Temple of Horus, she never returned.
Jean Yves
Jean Yves is an old friend of Lara's. He appeared in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and he was an archaeologist. Jean and Lara both have a great interest in raiding tombs and going on adventures. He appeared in the levels in Alexandria, and Lara met him in a library. He gave Lara information about Von Croy's plans. Jean instructed Lara to go to the Catacombs in Alexandria and find a way into Cleopatra's lost palaces. Then, she was instructed to find a way into the Lost Library. Later on in the adventure, Jean Yves was kidnapped from his home in Alexandria. This took place in the level, Cleopatra's Palace. Von Croy kidnapped him and took him Cairo. Von Croy wanted Lara to give him the armor of Horus or else he'd kill Jean Yves. He survived and lived to tell the second story where he went with Lara to Russia. Lara went alone into the base and the submarine.
Father Patrick Dunstan
He is an Irish priest and met Lara as a teenager. They met at Gallows Tree in Ireland, and Lara found him fighting a demon. Father Patrick Dunstan was traveling to an abandoned Irish island on a boat to fight evil forces, and young Lara was a stowaway on his boat. Later on, in the Old Mill, Father Patrick Dunstan was kidnapped by a demon, and Lara had to save him and do what the demon asked. In the end, Father Patrick Dunstan and Lara fought the demon together and saved each other.
Winston
He is Lara's old Irish butler and can be seen in some of the earlier Tomb Raider games. In Tomb Raider III, he could be seen in the training area in Lara's house. He followed her around a lot.
Werner Von Croy
When Lara was young, she was supervised in her adventures by Werner Von Croy. Von Croy was a more experienced tomb raider, and we met him in Angkor Wat in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. He guided Lara through their adventure, and he failed in his quest for the Iris. He was lost, and Lara escaped. More recently, Werner Von Croy was evil since he was possessed by Seth, an Egyptian god. He tried to kill Lara, but in the end, Seth left him, and he was good again. He tried to save Lara at the Temple of Horus, but he failed. Lara was missing, and he currently roams Egypt, feeling guilty for Lara's death.
Larson
Larson is an enemy that was in the original Tomb Raider game. He appeared in the first story, in Rome. He was from Texas and was working with Pierre. They were both trying to get the Philosopher's stone and were trying to kill Lara so she wouldn't get it. Larson was under the supervision of Pierre since he was not very bright. Larson fought many gun fights with Lara in the levels in Rome. We last saw him in the Trajan's Markets where Larson was beaten up by the snake heads that emerged from the building.
Pierre
He is French and used to be Larson's partner and supervisor. He was also in the original Tomb Raider game. Pierre was last seen in the Coliseum in Rome. Lara was dangling off of a cliff and nearly died when Pierre came. Pierre made Lara promise that she wouldn't touch him if he helped her up. Lara lived up to her promise and didn't touch him. However, Pierre still fell off the cliff when Lara yelled "Boo!" in his face.
Admiral Yarofev
He is a Russian Admiral and was one of the main enemies in the second story. He was the commander of the u-boat. He served his country for years, and he was also unhappy with the decline of Russia under the control of the Russian mafia. In the earlier levels, Admiral Yarofev was an enemy, but in the last level, he became Lara's friend and helped her escape from the u-boat. He was wounded, and Lara tried to help him, but Admiral Yarofev wanted to die in the u-boat. He wanted to die with his boat and he asked Lara to tell the world about him.
Sergei
Sergei was part of the second story, and he was an enemy. Sergei was a Russian mafioso. His goal was to get the Spear of Destiny, which he took from Lara. Sergei wanted to use the Spear of Destiny to take over the world. Unfortunately, the Spear of Destiny electrocuted him. There was an explosion, and the u-boat was damaged. Then, Lara had to find a way to escape.
Zip
Zip is a new character in the Tomb Raider series and is part of the fourth story. He is African-American, and he is great at computers. While Lara was in the tower block, he was her "eyes and ears." He guided Lara and told her what to do in Von Croy Industries.
Vladimir Kaleta
Vladimir is a 700-year old Verdanat demon that has been living in a barn in the Black Isle for all these years. Vladimir should have been dead for a long time, but he received a "gift" of eternal life through an ancient scroll. Vladimir was imprisoned on the island. The reason why he can't leave is because demons cannot cross flowing water. Flowing water is rampant in the island since there are mills everywhere. Vladimir sends Lara on a mission to stop the flow of water so that he can be free. If Lara fails or does not do as she is told, Vladimir will kill Father Dunstan. In the end, Lara stopped the water, and Vladimir was about to kill her and Father Dunstan. However, Lara read out the name of the type of demon he was in the book, the Bestiary, and he was frozen in his position.
Other Characters, Enemies, and Creatures
Doberman- These dogs are easy enemies, which is why they usually appear in the beginning levels. Any type of weapon will get rid of them. These dogs are pretty fast and jump around a lot, but Lara's good at aiming, so the dog's no match for her.
Bats- Bats come in flocks. They're very easy to kill, and they don't do much damage. Any weapon will kill them.
Rats- Rats are exactly like the bats. They come in groups. However, you can't kill them. You just have to avoid them.
Metal Octopus- This is one of the bosses in Trajan's Markets. The metal octopus is a formidable opponent, and it shoots lasers that automatically kill Lara when it detects her. The only way to kill the metal octopus is to equip the revolver and laser sight and shooting its eyes.
Gladiators- These guys are found in the Coliseum. They wield swords, and they're pretty fast. Gladiators are easily killed with the shotgun.
Lions- Lions are pretty dangerous, but if you think about it, they're just like larger versions of the doberman. The shotgun will easily kill the lion.
Giant Metal Knights- These guys are huge, and they wield swords. They also shoot energy balls. The shotgun or revolver is best for killing these guys, and the key to beating them is distance. When controlling Lara, the best strategy is to stay away from the knights and shoot while jumping side to side.
Snake Heads- The snake heads are the worst enemies in this game. It takes about 200 bullets of the shotgun to kill all three of them. The snake heads also shoot fireballs at Lara, so it is best to equip the shotgun and sidejump. When you get close to them, they lash out at Lara, so that's not a good idea.
Soldiers or Guards- These people are easily dealt with. You can just shoot them with any weapon available.
Mini Submarines- Found in the Deep Sea Dive level, these mini submarines are very pesky. They shoot torpedoes at Lara while she's in the Extreme Depth Suit. Unfortunately, you can't kill the mini submarines since you can't equip weapons while swimming. You just have to avoid the mini submarine's shots and launch chaff flares as distractions.
Small White Creatures- These guys are found in the Ireland levels in the Black Isle. Because Lara has no weapons, you can't kill them. They do little damage, but when they come in groups, they're quite dangerous. The best approach is to simply avoid them.
Skeletons- Fortunately, these skeletons are only found in the Labyrinth, and Lara destroys all of them easily with the Bone Dust. These skeletons are invisible, but they're planted in specific spots in the level. When Lara goes near these spots, the skeletons materialize and attack Lara with their huge swords. One hit from them will take away about half of Lara's health, so the best approach is to run fast and jump around.
Monsters- These monsters have a very small role in the Labyrinth. When Lara is following the white light, these monsters attack her when she's lagging behind. They usually push Lara into a small pit, and that's all.
Red Lobster- Found only in the Old Mill, the red lobster is a grotesque creature. It guards its silver coin, and when Lara steals it, this guy swims after her at a fast pace. The only way to kill it is to lure it to the cage, and use the silver coin. A cutscene shows the silver coin inside the cage, and the lobster goes inside. It's a trap, and Lara kicks the door closed. The cage is then raised by the small white creatures, and then they eat the red lobster.
Scientists (actually quite harmless)- The scientists are found in orange lab coats. They're harmless, and whenever Lara takes out a weapon, they duck for cover. Lara can shoot them if she wants, but it's unnecessary. The scientists are found only in the levels in Von Croy Industries.
Metal-suited Guards- These guys are found only in Von Croy Industries. They are actually soldiers inside a huge metal suit. They are very dangerous since they shoot lasers that take away half of Lara's health. The only way to kill them is to equip the HK Gun and using the built-in laser sight to shoot them in the head.
Cyborg- These cyborgs are found in the Von Croy Industry levels. They wield guns, and they shoot Lara with them. They are very hard to kill. The only way to kill them is by asphyxiation or electrocuting them with water.
